Ice Cool Clint gets the job done for Dutch

Wednesday 6th February - Friendly

Clint van den Bergh scored an impressive goal as Netherlands beat neighbours Belgium 1-0 in a highly-attacking encounter in Brussels.

The Edinburgh Eagles striker Van den Bergh, 20, stole the ball from London United new boy Jean Croussant, ran past the Belgian defence and chipped 'keeper Danny De Vincker from outside the box.

It was of true Dutch quality.

Clint's older brother Tim had a hatful of chances, with Danny De Vincker making a string of fine stops from the Middlesbrough Monsters forward.

The Belgians had their moments too.

Playmaker Croussant, who is regarded so highly in his home country, gave Marco Schuipers plenty of action - the Dutch 'keeper having to make a lot of saves from the London United boy.

But it was always going to be Holland's night, as Clint van den Bergh scored a spectacular goal, which sent the Orange Army bouncing.
