Brazil secured a 1-0 victory over Canada in freezing Toronto.
The BMO Field pitch looked of non-league quality - with the Soccanucks having a great record on poor pitches.
But that didn't stop the boys in yellow, who are used to great surfaces, from scoring the first goal after half an hour's play, Kikão whacking it past keeper Ross Rogers from 30 yards, scoring a typical Brazilian goal.
Canadian striker Colin Petrovsky gave Brazil a run for their money, nutmegging Tété Filhão and then dummying Paulo Silva.
But the Glasgow FC frontman, 31, smashed the bar after his incredible run.
And Canada almost went level when a Bobby Bricke free-kick was drilled in for Bryan Groves, but his spectactular diving header, once again giving the Brazilians a run for their money, was cleared off the line by Caca Cucu.
And Brazil breathed a sigh of relief at the final whistle as the Samba Boys finally ended their six-year hoodoo in the cold of Canada.
